Just bought an M1A friday and will be taking it to the range to see how it shoots! What should I expect from the rifle!

My standard I used to own averaged around 2" with everything decent.i sold it and now have a scout model and super match.I wish I had kept the standard and bought the mount. My scout also averaged about 2" but not with as many loads.I did rebed it and it seemed to knock 1/2 to 3/4" off the preffered loads.

Mine is more accurate than I am.
I hit milk cartons at 275m with it.

Rack grade M14's were always known for their long distance accuracy.  Normally a military rifle will group between 3 and 5 MOA.  The M14 was known for consistantly beating that.

When I do my part (not as often as I'd like) mine shoots 1.5MOA with cheap stuff like surplus or UMC yellow box.
