Mike, nice find! They weren't bad shotguns when they were out, & they're collectable today.
The reliability problems are exaggerated, but real. The weight of that little thing didn't help reliability at all, but it was a great auto to start with, that's why it worked as well as it did.
What really threw HS's engineers was having to build it for the "average cop," with a "median physique."
They ended up making a gun that was easy to ~ "limp elbow?"
Be kinda careful till you get the feel of the thing, it's quite a bit different from anything else.
I used one for two years, & still don't know what bangs up (I should say bangs OUT!) your elbow worse - holding it too tight, or too loose - IT HURTS either way! Yet you have to practice, because they shoot so different.
That is the reason they stopped making them BTW - Too many lawsuits by too many un-average cops with too many torn ligaments, & too many damaged elbows. They WILL fool you, they don't SEEM to be pounding THAT bad,,, The pain starts when you wake up the next morning, & notice one elbow is a couple inches larger that the other.
Start out with LB "Lights," & try to keep it under 20 rounds at first - no matter how thick you are......
Then sell it to me! I've always been sorry I traded the goofy thing.
