I am sure that the former and present peacekeepers will back me up when I say that it is a terrible idea. People don't join the military just to go on training exercises or march in parades, they want to see real action. If the US drops out of the UN this will all but remove one of the few positive elements of the international organization. Why would anyone want to join the military just to be on numerous and boring operations protecting the US?
