I'll be visiting Columbus Ohio soon and bringing my LEGP. The only rifle range I was aware of is down for repair (Powder Room in Powell). Anyone aware of another in Central Ohio? Thanks.

The New Albany range will allow rifles but it is only 100 ft.  That is the only indoor range that I'm aware of.  There are several state run outdoor ranges within an hours drive of Columbus (Deer Creek -Delaware).

There is a nice little sportsman club up by Marion Oh.  30 some odd miles north of Columbus.  I've been there as a guest.  It cost $25 dollars for a membership, no other fees.  It's rifle range max's our at 200 yards I believe.  If you want I'll get the name and address for you.  It's where I popped the cherry on my LEGP.

Deleware state park outdoor range, about 45min north of Columbus.  Get on Route 23 N, stay on it until you see a "gun shop" sign, make a left at the light, go into the gun shop.  Get a range pass for $3 for the day, leave the gun shop, go through the light (straight across 23N) and the range will be on your right.  You'll miss it on your first pass, so turn around.  ;)

It's only 100 yards, but it's sufficient.  New Albany is only 25 yards (albeit indoor).

I've been wanting to check out Deer Creek, being that I live in Columbus. I was told you should call ahead to make sure tthe Ranger is on duty. Is that necessary? I do like New Albany. I was just there sighting in  my M4. 25 yards is sufficient for a carbine but now I need to sight in a mil dot scope on my 20" AR

I also see that The Powder Room range in Powell is making a 100 yard indoor rifle range. Any word when that'll be ready? That would be sweet!

The powder room has a web site???!!!  Waddya know!  Katman: That rifle range has been there forever, but the original owner stopped using and maintaining it.  I was down there about ten years ago and it reminded me of an abandoned coal mine.  The new owners are remodeling it-hopefully it will be ready soon.
