Bad. Very bad. I had a real bad malfunction experience with one a few months back, had to learn the hard way.

USA brand magazines are the worst made.  Stick with USGI and Thermold 20 and 30 round magazines and you wont be sorry.

Check out the AR15 Magazine FAQ at magfaq.tripod.com for a lot of good information.

USA brand mags are the only company allowed by the ATF to keep producing 30rnd mags because they are guaranteed never to feed more than 10 rnds at any time.

As for using them as they were intended to be used, they're sh*t.

As for converting them to be used differently (ala Tromix upper post), they may be just the ticket.

If you want a good, reliable magazine, stick with USGI mags.  Next in line would be Thermold.

Are thee made in China?

They can't be made in China. Not even the Chinese would turn out such an inferior product. Besides I haven't seen any for sale at Wal-mart.

FWIW I just read an article in some gun rag about a suppressed 7.62 x 39 AR, and they stated the USA mag was the only one that fed flawlessly.  I have no experience w/7.62 x 39 AR's, but I hve heard there are mag issues.  I read the rags for entertainment, not necessarily info.

From reading the previous posts, I guess I am one of the lucky ones.   I have one USA 20-rd mag that I have had no problems with (the salesman threw it into the package when I purchased my AR).  The only issue that I have had is that I had to be very careful in loading the mag or else the rounds would catch on the lip and not go down any further.

I bought 3 steel 40 rounders,  I gave them away.  I bought 2 aluminum 30 rounders they fed fine.
