Yes, Orbison was extremely myopic, to the point where people were under the impression that he was blind. He wore the prescrition sunglasses because they looked cooler. |

Styles in eyewear go in and out of fashion. The military is particularly behind the trend on this issue; the BCG's they issue were generally in style 20 years previously. Given that Roy's been dead for what...15 years or so....you can't expect his choice of eyewear to be current!Remember that in the era of the earlier shots of him you guys are posting, you had two frame styles available: the geeky black plastic rimmed type or the lennon glasses for the more "hip" younger people.Compare his choices to what was available then, not what we can get now
