I got home today and the Fed-Ex man left my Rack grade rifle here for my wife. Man am I stoked! I got a 3 mil serial number Racker with the ORIGINAL barrel!! Sweet!

Wow, nice shape, could that be a milled ferrule?

Why yes, and not only that it's a gas trap ferrule, RARE!! WOOT!!!!

I love field repaired stocks, and this one is no different. it is a WW2 SA that has been stapmed RIA, meaning it has been re-arsenaled at Rock Island Armory.

Man am I happy. I can't believe that this was marked Rack....barrel is tight and T+E is 3 and 3...great. IF you can get a Garand, by all means do so soon. Once thay are gone, they are gone.

2-45 marked barrel!!!!

Congratulations! Great weapons and a wonderful piece of history. I have a few myself. Every time I pick one up for the first time, I wish it could speak- tell me where it's been and what it's seen.

Now all you have to do is mount an ARMs accessory rail on the top for your ACOG, and one
on each side of the stock for a Surefire  and laser!

US Rack-$400.

I did however discover the stock is cracked all the way through the pistol grip, that sucks. Oh well, a little glue and a small brass screw will fix it.

Also, it's easy to find a good one at a gun show.

Congrats, pighelmet.  Looks like a fine rifle.

If you're looking for a stock you could try Boyds'  I believe they took over or got most of Fajen's equipment when they went under.

Looks as good as my wifes "service grade" from several years back.

That is how I like my Garands to look; just a little battle scarred.
The metal looks great. I remember when I got my first Garand; I couldn't put it down for five minutes without picking it up and caressing it.

1. Shoot it till the barrel melts.
2. Replace the barrel.
3. Repeat steps one and two.

Enjoy that gun!
