There is a guy that I found that is selling all 5 RRA stripped lowers for $385. He said they are new so if anyone needs a few lowers just e-mail me because I'm not going to place the guys address on here.

I only need one do you think he'll sell em that way?
Link Posted: 6/27/2001 4:34:22 PM EDT
[#2]
I'm not sure if he will sell them separate or not but just think if you do buy all 5 sell them on this sight and after you sell 2 of them you make back almost all the money you spent. If I had the money I'd buy all 5 of them.

Is the seller in IL?  If so, aren't there a lot of AR15 members also there?  Just do a mini RRA group buy and divy it up.  I'm in if you want to do that.

To make sure they are post ban lowers.  Reference: http://www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?id=21845.  Just want to stay on the up and up.

That thread refers to lowers manufactured before the ban but not actually legally considered "preban".

Why bother checking these?  It's a very good price for postban lowers.  You don't need to check to see if they are actually postban.

Hell, if you got lucky enough  to buy 5 preban lowers for $385, you are GOLDEN.  Checking would just tip the seller off.

SGB:  I'm checking in to the markings on the receivers.  PWA and RRA are one in the same.  PWA preceeded RRA.  The photo you see is the same one (note the s/n) that the seller has used in the past when posting these.

Fight:  I know what the other thread was about.  Just want to make double sure.  I realized that the price pretty much gives away the status of the receivers, but better safe than sorry.

littlemarine:  What's your email address?

Tentatively here's how this will need to work.  I'll take receipt of all.  Then re-distribute, passing on the cost of shipping to each of the group purchasers.  If re-distribution is to a state other than Washington, the shipping will I imagine have to be to an FFL.  If that's the case, remember that each of us will have to bear the burden of an FFL transfer fee.  Mine is normally about $10-15.  I'm checking with my FFL on all of this.

So cost would be 81.80 + shipping + whatever your FFL charges you for transfer.

All:

I just checked.  The price on the 5 lowers is $398, which I could have sworn awhen tayous1 started this thread was $389, but I may be dyslexic.  Plus $20 shipping and insurance.  That's $418.  Divided by 5 is $83.60 for each lower.  It's going to cost me an additional $5.90 (USPS priority, confirmed delivery, $100 insured) per lower to ship them to each individual.  Based on those numbers the total should be $83.60 + $5.90 = $89.50.

Still can't reach the seller to clarify a couple of things.  Trying by email and phone.

Also need to clarify with my FFL that once I take delivery, re-distribution by me is no problem.

Sorry if this seems like it's taking a long time.  Just want to get all of our ducks lined up so I don't get stuck with 5 lower receivers.  (Oh darn, I'd have to build 5 more rifles.  What a punishment!).[thinking]

I got an email reply from the seller and hopefully will be talking with him by phone.  The seller IS in FL as far as I know.  The price did go up to $398, but I'm trying to get him to honor the $389 price when I made my first inquiry.  I'll post more when I know more.

Confirmed.  The price on the 5 lowers is $398 plus $20 shipping and insurance from the seller (he took a price increase from his supplier). That's $418. Divided by 5 is $83.60 for each lower.

I'll break them down and redistribute.  It's going to cost me an additional $5.90 (USPS priority, confirmed delivery, $100 insured) per lower to ship them to each individual. Based on those numbers the total should be $83.60 + $5.90 = $89.50.

I've emailed the first five that wanted in on this with instructions for ordering.  As soon as I've got funds from everyone, I'll place the order.  Let's get going on this so we can get the order place.  Yahoo!

Maybe it would be possible for you to get an even better price if you buy 10.
I'm in if you can arrange it, or if you want to do a second order.
A RRA receiver for <$90 is a steal.

I've contact the first five people for an order on the first five receivers.  If I don't hear from them by Tuesday, July 3, 2001, 17:00 PDT, I'll start contacting numbers 6, 7, 8, etc. to see if they want in.

This will be my first homegrown AR--this should be cool. I want to build a spacegun--20/22/24" bull barrel, flat top, free floated, Jewel trigger. Anyone have any recommendations on where I should pick up the upper?

wakebrdr:  Way cool.  Have fun building it.  Lot's of good info on the Build it Yourself forum.  And plenty of people on the forum willing to help.  Re: Were to get an upper.  I had good luck and M & A.  Post your question on Build it Yourself and you'll get flooded with advice.

WSmac:  You're on the list

redray:  I included myself as number 3 therefore you were number 6.  Go back and review the thread if there are any questions.  Looks like we might be able to do a second 5 or an initial 10.  I'm checking on a price break for 10.

[red]Since this is interstate (unless you are in WA), your FFL needs to take receipt and then transfer to you.  No sense getting a good deal and then getting fined or jailed[/red]

Yes.  A transfer will be applied if your FFL charges one.  Assume they will.  $10-25 usually.
