Archived [ARCHIVED THREAD] - Speaking of the CMP and M1 Garands...

My Daughter is on the Drill team with her High School ROTC unit and has told me that she wants a Drill Rifle for her birthday. I am planning on buying her a functional Garand to both shoot and practice basic D & C with, but I'd like to also get her a "non-gun" for her to practice the exhibition type stuff with. I cringe at the thought of her twirling and spinning a functioning piece of US military history.

Anyone know where I can pick up a Garand Drill rifle for less than the cost of a functional CMP Garand?

The CMP has parade O3's for $10. They cannot fire.
