Appears to be a 7.62 nato blank.

I have a few of them as well.

Look for the nato stamp on the base.  Circle with a cross thru it.  You'll know for sure then.

Dont see it.

There are two letters and two numbers on the base.  "L C 5 9"

LC stands for Lake City right?

Dunno.. I have 7.62 blanks here and they look the same to me.

Hey Floppy, How long is the thing ?

.30-06 blanks are only slighty longer than a spent .30-06 case. Barely noticable difference. I have some of both and the photo is without a doubt a 7.62mm NATO blank. Way back in another lifetime I fired tens of thousands of them from the pig.

I wish I had a pig !    Pigs are cool.........

My brother had a pig in the navy.......

It hadta get blowed up first tho
It got pig-jacked one day and was MIA for some time....

Couple weeks later it was found 'ravaged' in the chain locker on his ship.

He kinda didn't want 'his' pig back anymore.

Indeed I do But honest to God, that's a true story, albeit a slightly condensed version.

He added a lot more ranting, raving and such to the original, which was told to me in the middle of the night, on a phone call from Pearl Harbor HI...  I don't think I ever laughed so damn hard in my life.

We sent the poor inflatable swine to him months beforehand, So he woudn't get lonely on a WESTPAC cruise..  The whole story is the stuff of legends among certain circles of my friends here.
