Well, I was cleaning the flowerbeds this weekend and found four solar powered, rechargeable, walkway lights lying in the shrubs.
I wasn't sure if they still functioned, but I knocked out the fireants, cleaned them up, and cleaned the battery contacts. Then I set them back out in the sun for a little while...
Well, they seemed to be working just fine, so I thought of a way to reuse them.
I decided that my mailbox needed interior lighting. so, I got out the dremel tool, a little silicone gasket sealant and added solar powered, interior lights, to my mailbox.
I drilled/cut four evenly spaced holes in the roof of my mailbox. Removed the base of the lighting system to allow a flush fit, sealed with gasket sealant and bingo! Interior lights, rechargeable, and in full sun.
Works like a charm. No more wondering if I got all the mail when I come home at 10 pm. Interior is well lit now. Four units, evenly spaced and sealed against rain.
In case any of you home improvement guys/gals need a project, I highly recommend lighting your mailbox.
