Given that LEO guns are now available, does this preban gun have any more value than a LEO Colt Govt Carbine? Should I shoot it and enjoy it, or keep it unfired? Does anyone really care anymore if it's a "pre-ban" AR15?

People in pre ban states might pay you a pretty penny for it, then use the funds to get a LE6920 or something.

That's a nice gun!  If you  had another AR I'd keep it NIB

Once you shoot it the price will go down just like a new car.

Try to sell it to someone in a slave state. They would love to buy a NIB rifle, and you could use the money to buy a new LE also NIB and would feel good about what you did.

Just noticed it was a blue label, didn't pay that much attention at first cause I just saw the bayonet lug.  Sell to a slave state or shoot it.

That is after you drill out the hole for the spring and detent to sit in.

My Govt. Carbine is identical to this one and it, like most all I have seen, have the drain hole pre drilled.  I have seen some with the fence but no hole drilled, however most of those had the large sear block pin through both sides.
I bought the pin, detent and spring and put them in mine, no worries.

"The ban is gone; for most of us. Why wouldn't you shoot it?"

Mainly because Colt is not selling the pre-ban config guns to the general market. They are still available from Colt only to LEO distributors (I realize they are legal to own now). Colt tells the LEO distributores they can't sell the LEO AR15's to anyone toher than LE. That makes them kinda hard to find. Since the ban lifted, I've only seen one Colt LEO marked Carbine in the local shops around Austin.
