Just when you think Calif is retard-central Mass goes and raises the bar. New legislation-H1263 would require protective headgear for drivers and passengers of ALL motor vehicles!

The way it is worded it is true. [%|]

It seems that the elected officials of Mass. wore helmits when they were younger (and maybe rode the short bus to school)[;)]

Any yutz living in Massachusetts can submit a bill to the Great and General Court (legislature). That's why Mrs. what's her name's moniker is attached to it. Obviously some head wound fanatic. "Causeheads" abound in MA, esp. in Newton, Brookline, Cambridge. (Unfortunately, not enough gun owners in MA are causeheads for their own cause, but that's a different story....)

A legislator from the citizen's district helps out with legal language, etc. Not that it helps- MA has, acc. to lawyer acquaintances of mine, the WORST, most poorly worded laws around. To wit: the MA gun laws....

Speaking of which, an Ariele Goldman from Newton, MA, perenially submits a bill to outlaw the possession, sale or use of guns by anyone in MA except the military and police. She's hoping, apparently, one day she might get lucky...

This is all about control! People just want to control other people. They are like the people that go on a diet and now everyone has to be on a diet. If she feels she needs a helmet to drive in a car put one on. We don't need a law for that. I wonder if she drives her car with a helmet on. She should go to the local bicycle store buy 4 helmets and in her car everyone has to wear one. Why does she have to make a law. Talk about loss of freedom. Boy these people would love you to be slaves if they had their way.

OK kids we are leaving conneticute and entering Mass. put on your helmet. Don't worry when we leave this state and enter Vermont we can take them off.

Actually... acc. to MA law, everybody on a bike, at least up to the age of 12, must wear a helmet. I am not sure what the possible punishment is. Of course, like most arcane, contradictory laws in MA, everybody has forgot about it, and it is not enforced.

Re seat belts: a proposed bill in MA to make it a probable cause for LEOs to stop and ticket drivers who go seat beltless failed miserably in the legislature this week. Guess the sheep aren't ready for it yet... "But... we're doing it for the CHIIIILDREN!!!"

MA police can ticket you for driving w/o a seatbelt but only if you are stopped for something else- like.. having guns in your car? :^) Just kidding- guns in cases in cars are OK, as long as one has the appropriate gun licence. "Show us your papers!"

Cases must be locked, or trigger/cable locks on guns. Guns must be out of view. Law is unclear on whether long arms should be in cases. No guns in window racks, although you might be able to get away with it with muskets, etc.

"Marge, that's a matter for the courts to decide."
