Congrats, I love mine.
Get Hogue grips for it. The hard plastic of the stock grips always made mine slip around in my hand.

Congrats...I would love a P220, but right now I am happy with my P228.  Sig makes the best pistols IMHO

Alright! Make sure you get Hogue grips to replace the Factory Grips..

I own 2 sigs..1 is a P220 the other is a P226 (I like the P220 best).

I love my 229 and would love to get a 220 some day.  My dream is that they would make one of these in single action.  Doubtful, I know, but I can dream.

A few years back I debated about the P220 and ended up with the 226 instead. Than a few months ago I picked up the P220 sport. Love both these items.

Two other two Sigs on my Wish List are the P220 and the 226 Sport.

Does anyone have a 226 Sport in 9mm? Has it been shipped to dealers?

Congratulations. I've got a 220 and a 229 myself...the hardest part is trying to figure out which one I like better.

I was going to buy myself a .44 magnum until I realized that the 220 gives me pretty much all the bone-rattling recoil that I need to get the stress out. [pistol] (Yes, I am a wuss.)

The only Sig I've ever not liked was the P232. The slide rides too close to my hand and I end up with it nicking my thumb. [bd] I ended up selling it and getting a Bersa instead, which is yet another sign of bad taste on my part. [:)]

If you are going to carry your P220 concealed, as I do mine everyday, the Hogue rubber grips might be a mistake. They will tend to catch and grab your covering garment constantly and you will always have to keep yanking it back down over your holster. I have Hogue smooth wood grips on the P220 I carry most frequently and they are great for conceled carry. Covering garments slide right over them. CDNN Investments  was recently selling factory stainless mags for your gun for $24.99. Good price.
Congrats on buying a fine pistol!

You won't regret buying this one. I have had a West German 220 for 8 years, it's the BEST. I have owned 3 other .45 acps, Colt Gold Cup, Springfield, & Smith - none comes close to the reliability and accuracy of the 220. I also have a 239, but the 220 is my favorite. I wish I had two of 'em!
The 220 feels GREAT in your hand, & with the alloy frame it is light for a .45, it's size is comparable to a Commander.

Great choice! I've had a european model since '84 I believe, when Interarms handled Sig in US. Been totally reliable, accurate. One of the best guns I've ever had.
Enjoy it!

Congrats!

220 is a great pistol, I love all sigs, when you get a chance, try out a Sig 229 in .40 s&w or in .357 sig.  I think it is more refined.

but personally the 1911 points a little better for me.

John
Sig 220, 229, 226 (would like a 245 too)

Got both.  Both great.  You know P228 is now restricted by Sig to LEO only.  Lighter than P229.  Definitely get Hogue grips.  B27 said that Hogue grips get caught on his clothes, but I have Hogues on my Sigs and my Rugers, carry shoulder and waist, never had a problem.

Yes I know about this.  Recently a friend of mine saw my P228 and offered me $450 for it.  I only paid $400 for it but still would sell it.  It is by far the best pistol I have ever shot.

I also bought a HopLite plastic BB Sig for $20 that I use at home to help practice my grip control.

Sigs also seem to stay cleaner than other pistols, or is this just my imagination????

Congrats,  I was shooing mine yesterday using American brand ammo that comes in the plastic packaging.  My Sig would not eat that ammo.  The round would jam itself into the top of the chamber and shove the bullet back up into the caseing.  I switched over to PMC and it fed just fine.  This was the first time I've ever had any feeding problems with my 220.  Maybe stay away from that brand,  I dunno.

I love my P220 too.  Accuracy, reliability and ergonomics are second only to my P228, which to paraphrase Thomas Jefferson, "is my companion on all my walks".

Lots of luck.

SOL
