Watching our live feeds at CNN, cops chasing a GMC van through LA, who is supposedly armed with an AR15 and has shot at cops and the helicopters following. Wow, good thing they banned that rifle. [:(!]

Edited because it seems it probably isn't an AR15 now, though that's what everyone was reporting that this guy had.

If you're going to catch anything it will probably have to be on Fox.

He's in a residential area now, still seems to have a specific destination in mind. Also, can't tell if there's just the driver in the vehicle. Supposedly there's at least one other.

Now he's back on the highway. Maybe he's not going anywhere specific.

Interesting note, though. Cops have been staying back about 1/4 mile this whole time. Less when he's been hung up in traffic, but still not doing anything but following. What's everyone's take on that?

Santyth, the cops can't engage with the guy in a busy street. Way too much liabilty if a bystander is shot. You'd be surprised how many stupid people would run out of their work, home, market, etc. right into the middle of a gun fight to see what the hell is going on. They don't even want to ram him because that would put the cops way to close to someone who has a high powered weapon and has already demonstrated he is willing to use it. A "full auto" TEC-9 is really a 2 or 3-round burst weapon, because it won't fire 4 shots before jamming.

Of course, the copter guy is only spouting anti crap. It's highly unlikely that the guy has a full-auto TEC-9, and if he does, it's been illegally converted.

Crazed gunmen w/ Tec 9 turns out to be Chuck Schummer!!! He's evading the police because he had just been caught in a police sting operation aimed at those buying & selling illegal firearms. Chuck was taped asking for an AK-47, Mac 10 & state of the art SW5 assualt weapon! Chuck was heard rumbling something like 'I'll show that b***ch how to be a Senator for New York'.

Heck with the 69 Mustange. If I were running from the cops give me a BMW Z8. They gonna have to use the radio cause there is no way they gonna catch up.

About the 69 Mustange... Sure you can out run the cops but most Highway patrols have Cameros. Unless you got nitro and a lot of it it will pretty much be even.

You know while I'm wishing big even though it would suck to drive it(in a car chase) a Miclarin F1 would be ok. I mean what they wouldnt have a chance.

Earlier, I saw snipers set up on an overpass in front of him.

If I were him, I would have faked being out of gas with about 1/4 tank left, let them set up, and scope out an exit that could give me a little more distance between himself and the cops. When the choppers go to wide angle, I noticed a few ways out where the cops would not be able to shoot for fear of hitting each other. After dark, I would have made my move and tried to get to a place where I could ditch the van under cover, out of chopper view, and maybe procure another vehicle via carjack.
