I have sent for my C&R license and have been looking at the many War time rifles.

I was wondering which ones you are most fond of, whether it be for shooting, looks, accuracy, history, value, etc.

Lee-Enfield Mk. 5 "Jungle Carbine".

Fun gun, big recoil, very loud, good for close-up shooting in jungles or streets (which it was designed for). Get an original in nice shape, not one of the chop jobs put out by Santa Fe or Gibbs Rifle Co.

Other than an AK or AR, it will be the sexiest gun at the range.

What did you have to go through for that C&R license?
I keep adding up all the C&R rifles I want, and the number exceeds a dozen. Does a C&R license make sense, just to avoid transfer fees for your own private collection?

Yes- A) no interstate FFL transfer hassle, as long as the gun is C&R; (you are the FFL in this case)
B) guns, in better shape than usual, often at cheaper prices.

All you have to do is pay $30 for 3 years.

I will make my money back with one gun since some FFLs charge as much as $35/transfer and at least $20.

I can also pick up 1911 pistols and other great stuff without that dealer BS.

There are alot of C&R rifles that are well worth having,A Swede m96, is a good place to start, and then maybe a persian 98/29, (made by CZ), Enfields of course! and lets not forget the yugoM-48&48a's and last but not least, our russian Mosin-Nagants!! most of these rifles can be had for $100-200 at the most, and they are a blast to shoot!! after you get started you'll wonder why you did'nt do it sooner!!

Plus you can get FFL discounts from Borwnells (about 25%) - don't know about other companies.

I just got a CMP M1 Garand and M1 Carbine. Both shipped directly to me. One from Illinois and the other from California. Just sent a signed copy of my C&R FFL along with the payment, they ship it to your door.

No FFL in between.

Next is a WWII M1911A1.

Get a Hakim.  Semi-auto, flash suppressor.  Tell your stupid friends it's an M1A1.  Plus I don't know of any cheaper ammo than 8mm.
