Any good? How about  "The Beast"? Got 'em out of the 5 dollar bin.

When Trumpets Fade was about Hurtgen forest... good idea for a story, but the movie SUCKED.

Royally sucked.  The music was more out of a 30's jazz/gangster film, and... well... the whole thing just sucked.

I liked "When Trumpets Fade", the main character is not your standard hero, but it sure seemed realistic.

Both are good. Trumpets is about the battle of the Hurtgen Forest.  The Beast is about a Russian tank crew in Afganastan (sp?).  Put a different spin on the mujahadeen fighters.

+1

Both are pretty good. Neither story has had much said on film. Easily worth 5 bucks each.

I HATED The Beast.

One of the worst movies ever made.

I enjoyed When Trumpets Fade. Not a bad flik--talk about the unlikeliest of heroes. Certainly worth $5. Haven't seen The Beast yet.

I liked both movies.

I bought When Trumpets Fade back when it was a $9.99 DVD.

I havent seen The Beast DVD for sale though, I'll pick it up if I see it for $5.

I think "When Trumpets Fade" is one of the best WWII movies I've ever seen.

Far better than the unrealistic Saving Private Ryan...

Never seen "The Beast"
