I had some really cool Tonka trucks when I was kid in my sandbox. My folks were a bit niggardly at the time, so I only had a few, but I did love them so. Does anyone here know of a good site to look into reading up more on Tonka trucks?

Here you go: www.100megsfree3.com/lonestar/ I too owned only a couple of Tonka trucks when I was a kid, but not because my parents were niggardly, but because those things were damn expensive when you came from a working class backround. Enjoy the link & touché. |

Sheesh +1 X the IBTL for me too ! |

Yeah, I had 3 or 4 when I was in the first grade in Yakima, WA. They were used but in good shape.
My folks left them there when we moved to OK because they didn't have room for everything. That was in 1956, and I wonder what they would be worth now? NMSight |

On a related note, I'll bet original Tonkas in good condition can bring some good $$.
Too bad I destroyed all mine. I am such a moron. Now my kids won't have good sh*t to play with. They don't make 'em like THAT anymore. |

My mom always told me a story of how my brother was pushing around his fire engine and got nailed in the head with the ladder I think ... I never had one because of that incident... THANKS BRO!

Don't diss plastic. It's what gives me my paycheck. Still wouldn't have one mae of plastic though, and my kiddos will have a ALL METAL one. Even if I have to weld the SOB myself and powdercoat it myself. |

Why all the IBTL? It's a real word, it's a legit word. Jesus, you guys are freaking out and trying to be all PC for no damn good reason. You're all playing into what the kerry loving democrats want, to fear words like that. To be politically correct. Fucking stop it.

Nope, it got gooky stuff in the wheels and I used a rag to clean it. That was not the worst though. It was supposed to make sounds when you pushed it. Well for one it didn't work very well in or out of the sandbox. I found out the more I hit it with the maglite the more sounds it made. I could understand it better too. I think this thread has run it's course guys. |
