I think that it is a view that just because you are snowed in and think its bad, others have it worse. You know..."Grass is always greener..."

The grass is always greener (when it's not underwater)?

I don't think the cartoonist was making a reference to the tsunami if that's what you're wondering.

I suffered two hurricanes in three weeks. The last panel has a lot of meaning to me. I wish someone would send money to us Floridians that still don't have homes as a result of the "Storms of September".

I'm one of the lucky ones, I only need $14,000.00 worth of repairs to my house.

Considering a Tsunami isnt' caused by a tropical storm, I'd say it's no reference to that. However, hurricanes/cyclones? Sure.

I build Sunday comics layouts for hundreds of newspapers. We get the individual strips 3 weeks in advance. This weeks comics came in before the tsunami.

Frankly, I find this one to be quite offensive.

If you reversed it, you'd be a racist. Funny how that works.

They drove 100 feet into high water in a car? That's their own fucking fault and they should receive a bill for the rescue.
