Yes.  Some were taken with a Digital Rebel, some with the 10D that replaced it.

Do you have a higher rez version of the 2nd to last one? It would make good background on my work pc.

Hehe, that's what I use it for.  Yes, I have a SUPER big file of that one.  IM me your email and I will send it to you...as long as you give me credit for it if asked.

Heh, actually I LOVE that particular shirtless little boy...seeing as how he's my son.

What lenses do you hve in your lineup?

Right now, I have a Sigma 12-24, Canon 28-105 USM, Canon 50mm f1.8, Canon 70-200 f4 L and a Sigma 50-500.  A couple of the pics above were taken with the 18-55 lens that came with my Digital Rebel that I used to have though.

The Sigma 50-500 - is that the f4.0-6.3? I've seen it, and it looks like a great lens, but heavy. Is it?

Oh, you're damned right it's heavy.  Only time you use that puppy without a tripod is when you can rest it on an open car window or a post or handy rock.  You do NOT hand-hold that lens.  I only use it for wildlife shots, basically.

You should take a serious look at the Canon 85mm 1.8 for any portrait work you might do.

I bought one and can't get enough of it.

Well, the 50mm 1.8 works out to about an 80mm with the crop factor...
I don't do much portrait stuff anyway, to be honest.  My favorite shooting is landscape and wildlife.

I haven't seen the Sigma 12-24 yet.  I bet that's REALLY useful with the digitals.

It sure is---it's a must for anything wide-angle because of the 1.6x crop factor with a consumer level digital SLR.  It's great for landscape shots.

Roger. I used a monopod with my 400/2.8 when I was doing auto racing stuff. I don't have a digital SLR, and my T-90 hasn't seen the light of day for about 7-8 years. Does your SLR have motorized zoom, or is zoom only controlled on the lens barrel?

Lens barrel.  It works just like a film SLR as far as operation goes.

Gotcha. Thanks. Must abandon this thread before I start asking more questions and surfing camera sites!

These are a few of my favorites:

I used to hang out on them a lot more, but I'm getting bored taking pictures around this town...there's only so many pictures of herons you can take before you just get burned out on them.  I plan on using the camera a lot this summer when we take a tour of the Pacific Northwest.

As for credit ... will "it was shot by some dude who posts on one of the net message boards I frequent" do?

I hope so, because I've had the small version up as background and two people have asked about it already and that's the line they got.

Yes it is, and it's a beautiful place.  I only hope the recent rains in AZ have started to refill it because it was WAY down when I went.
