Don't worry about it, too much!
Even her own attorney says that she is where she needs to be...in prison. When mothers kill their own children....that is true insanity IMHO! Not situations such as Susan Smith in South Carolina, where the mother drowned her childen simply because they interfered with her new 'relationship' with a wealthy boyfriend! That's murder, plain and simple! But in cases such as this, I'm afraid that society can't do much more punishment to her than she's likely already suffering herself! Nor should it attempt to do so. Besides, why in the world did the State's expert witness make up the testimony about a television program that never occurred???? If she's to be tried and convicted, at least let it be based upon competent and true testimony! Eric The(Saddened)Hun

I'm pretty sure perjury is a crime. The idiot was testifying that Yates may have gotten the idea for the drowning-defense from a "Law and Order" episode that didn't exsist. The fact that someone was convicted, perhaps partially on testimony that was made up is a serious matter. |

Look, IMHO, Yates was and is nuts. She belongs in a mental hospital for the rest of her life.

No. She suffers from a mineral deficiency. A 230 grain injection straight into her skull should help. |

She can't possibly be cured of her problem, so why bother with a hospital? The best we can do is keep her out of the population and not breeding for the rest of her life and prison is much cheaper than hositals. There is VERY limited space in state-run mental health faciliities that are equipped to deal with the criminally insane. Save space in them for people that might actually be helped in some way. |
