Damn!!!

I just looked out my office window and sure as shit, IT IS SNOWING IN LAS VEGAS and coming down pretty hard too.

I took a break and went driving around a little to see how things looked and sure enough, I saw a wreck. This guy thought it would be a good idea to crash into that fence.

Man, that is going to be a big disappointment to thousands of So. Kali-fornians that make the 561 miles trip to Vagas. It's also going to be a fairly tough going because of snow in Cajon Pass, over the San Berdernino Mtns to Vagas.

Not alot in the Las Vegas valley (elevation 2,165 ft.).The mountains around Vegas get alot of snow, especially the higher peaks at 6,000 ft up to 11,000+ ft.The mountains surrounding Vegas have been snow covered the last few weeks. It's beautiful when it's 65 degrees outside and you can see the peaks off in the distance covered with snow.

It snowed like this overnight about a year ago but not this hard. It usually flurries a little every year for a few hours but usually never sticks. When I was a youngster back in the 70's it snowed like a son of a bitch. I still have pictures that were given to me by my folks showing the streets blanketed in snow.

You'd be surprised how fast some dopes go, now with snow.

Almost got plowed into by Industrial......idiots!

Where did the sun go?  I went to Phoenix for the sun, all I got was rain in the 50's, Texas.....snow, in the 30's, stopped by the PRK, rain....and now snow in Vegas!!

*sigh*........I miss the sun, I'm not designed for cold weather!!!

Nature is a weird mother.  When we left there Wed. at about noon it was in the 30s in Vegas but 68 in Atlanta.  We left just as the heards of nerds were coming in (CES).  I don't know how he did it but I'm sure that somehow this is Bush's fault!

even though alot of the northern states don't give a toot about this, cuz they got plenty of snow....IT IS A BIG DEAL FOR US DESERT FOLKS..... it was over 115 degress in summer here...so snowing IS extremley rare here on the strip....or in the Las Vegas valley for that matter...

I guess snow on the strip is unusual.  It is pretty common in the areas around the Vegas Valley especially around the west end of town.  We are near the entrance of Red Rock Canyon at an altitude of about 3500'.  We got dumped on pretty good yesterday.  Temps went up overnight though and it has started melting already.

Given the "Day after Tomorrow" scenarios floating around, we thought our homestead could use a little extra protection in case of looters or hungry wolves........The neighbors loved it!

Bwahahaha! I'm lovin' it.

I feel if it's going to be overcast, then it should at least rain or snow. Dammit. Something like 350 days a year of sunshine makes you appreciate a little rain every so often.

Perhaps. But then again, maybe you people need to learn how to not come to the desert in the summertime, hike up a mountain with a 20 ounce bottle of water, and DIE of heat stroke.

Have a nice day!
