Seriously. Pretty much anything will fly with BATF/NFA so long as it isn't illegal or hint at illegality or insanity. "Because the voices in my head told me to." is never a good option. "Because the neighbor's dog is driving me nuts." is similarly not advisable. I know one guy who put "EXCITEMENT!!!" as his reason for a 20mm Lahti anti-tank gun. It passed. I have heard that "because chicks dig it" will also pass. Just remember if you get too cute and it gets denied, its going to set you back 3-4 months. "Investment, collection, and target shooting." is a standard response. |

"all legal purposes" if you are in a shall issue state, it doesnt matter what you put down. You can put down, "go piss up a rope"....they still have to issue your stamp as long as you meet the other criteria. |

I put professional use on all my Form 4s and Form 1's.
I also include a copy of my creds, even though im purchasing/manufacturing for personal use. Turn around time from check cashed to approval is aprox 38 days |

ARin had the funniest one....Go piss up a rope....... I almost fell out of my chair when I read that. In my mind I could see the ATF agent processing the form and reading the reason out loud before the board....small pause of silence in the room and then they mark the form approved and pick up the next one....
