I just wonder.  Klinton tried so hard to bring a peace deal between Israel and the Palestinians and had it all fall apart on his watch.

Now it looks like peace might be at hand brokered by the Bush Administration.  If peace, and I mean real peace, where Palestine is granted statehood and the terrorism goes away, do you think that Bush will get the prize?

It would be such poetic justice.  I bet Klinton would shoot himself.

There never will be peace in the Middle East. You can't force people to like each other after thousands of years of hatred, unless you bring in a common enemy to both sides.

Bush wouldn`t get a Nobel Peace Prize if he walked on water. Since he isn`t caving in to european sensitivities on many issueslike Clinton,  the euro types hate him.

Imbro is right. I sympathise with both sides (I know several Palestinians and Israelis)but I really think the best thing to do is let them fight it out themselves. The Middle East is not the 51st state. As Lord Soames, one of the architects of the Zimbabwe/Rhodesia ceasefire in 1980 said, "Every nation has a right to its own War of the Roses." I don't care how many voters in NY we will offend or how allegedly threatened our oil supplies are- it's not our problem.

As for Dubya winning a prize of any sort from a stuffy, Socialist/European committee? You'll see the Assault Weapons ban sunset before that'll ever happen...

Yeah, true, but if he could broker peace, Embryo(glio)'s position would be even more justification for it, considering the difficulty of the task.

Embryo(glio), he doesn't need to make them love each other, just get them to agree on a border.

It's so great seeing Bush in Europe advancing our interests and not caving in to Euro trash pressure.  Klinton was such a whimp.  He never stood up for what was right if it was controversial.  Bush has balls.

Very well stated.  Klinton almost achieved that goal by garnering hatred of the US by both groups.
