We almost had the snake subdued
But some kid poked him with a stick,
Instead of capturing the serpent
It turned and bit!
We could have captured him
And placed him in a cage,
Stopped him from doing further harm
Now we must suffer his rage
Although he only bit one of us
Sending that person to his death,
It affected everyone
Hindering us from doing what’s best
We were trying to protect the public
From the poison that spewed from it’s mouth,
Now the public has turned against us,
Sending our movement south
They now sympathize for the snake
Which was unjustly provoked,
And the snake hunters
The kid they wanted to choke!
No, the kid should not have angered the snake
What he did was wrong
Because of his action
No one will sing our song
The snake should be treated with respect
Handled with the most extreme care,
Attacking it in an unjust way
Brings us innocent victims we all must bare
“It had to be struck at!” exclaimed the kid
But his actions killed an innocent man!
A man that was actually on his side
Against the snake, he was making a stand!
Now the snake hunters are ostracized
And few wish to lead the way,
Those that do find it hard
Public opinio to sway
Now the snake has grown larger
Much more difficult to subdue
And to the kid we once knew,
I have only this to say,
“Roast in hell Timothy McViegh!”
