Lets be realistic here. The 7.62x39mm is a larger bullet and carries more energy. Why cant you guys clearly see its preferable to the 5.56 due to this fact??
Um, because it isn't? It doesn't fragment, so is less lethal than 5.56, and has an inferior trajectory. What's to like? |
Don't start this shit on election night, I'm all drunk as it is.
You link to a big webpage?? 5.56 7.62x39mm The 7.62 clearly has more energy. |
I have to. I have to do SOMETHING to keep my mind off this shit. If digging up THIS issue wont get some responses and get us off the elections, nothing will. |
apples and oranges.
blindly following .30 caliber is a pre-vietnam era attitude... |
You've never once answered any questions. Whos the troll? Oh yes, I know. The member who never contributes ANYTHING. That would be you...... |
If so why did the Soviets go to the 5.45mm in 1974?? |
Well no offense Specop_007 but do you spend all your time on here i mean shit you already over 1230 posts since august i mean damn son
You have to hit what you're aiming at first! You won't do it with an AK.
Specop_007 go find out what board gunkid is hanging out at these days and talk to him about it.
Due to the smaller size, its looks cuter. You dont want to scare your adversarys away before you have a chance to shoot them, so they adopted a smaller round in order to make their enemies feel more comfortbale. |

hmmmm, was it to keep up with the .223, no can't be. Kalashnikov didn't say it himself did he??... |
[no life] How in the fuck can you have that many posts in only a couple of months? [/no life]
Your rate of post is like one a second or in lay man terms = a hell of alot more votes than kErrys gittin |
Well, what the hell else am I supposed to do at work?? |
Hey, I'ma serious fuckin surfer man. I'm not one of those high-on-the-weekend hippie surfers you see on the beach man. I'm a hardcore, long haired, skin looks like leather everyday surfer damnit!! |
IIRC Energy equals mass times velocity squared.
You are clearly not understanding the velocity squared part. |
Where's the "Aw jeez, not this shit again" pic?
A shotgun is also the best home defense weapon. I saw it on tv. |
Aaaah, you had to say his name. He'll show up now. |
7.62X39 may have more energy at muzzle, but it loses it quickly.
I would compare it to the 30 30 round. Plus it lacks a platform that delivers it with the same accuracy as the 5.56. At 400 meters I can still have high confidence in hitting my target with the 5.56, at that distance it's a gamble with the AK round. |
Shoot yourself in both feet one with 5.56 and one with the 7.62 and get back to us with a damage report.
No no, its a knife man. The article on the main page says a knife is the best weapon if your within 21 feet...... |
Bush - 170 Kerry - 112 |
That's because you ask the most assinine questions possible. You're not worth giving a serious answer to. |
But.....Do i put the 5.56 in my left foot or right foot?? |
I volunteer to be shot at with both calibers using standard m4 and ak47. At 3000 yards. Will report back findings.
Your not banned yet?? |
YOU LIVE IN FUCKING KANSAS! |
ASSHOLE!! And here I had *almost* forgotten about all that. |
The AK round is underpowered for a .30 cal projectile. It has a horrible trajectory past 200 meters, doesn't fragment well, as well as a few other reasons that I think I'll let Brouhaha take care of. More energy doesn't always equal a superior round. |
Minor technicality. |
Sounds like you like AK's/SKS more than AR's? |
No, I actually prefer the AR's. I just dont want a hole eaten into my stomach from the ulcer I was getting by watching the news. I knew if anything would get the Arfcommers to action on something BESIDES the election it was this topic. In all honestly, I appreciate both for what they are. Very effective mankillers. |
Bush 178!!! Kerry 112 Bush just took MT. |
I'm no physics guru, but the energy carried in such a round is about equivalent to a bag of potatos falling off a shelf and hitting you (read this somewhere)
Granted you would probably get the snot knocked out of you, but you'll live. Fragmentation is the real killer. |
You guys are just downright mean. |
Fragmentation?? Like what a paintball does?! Hell man, that wouldnt kill ANYTHING!! |
