I got some kid watching to do and was wondering what is your favorite pancake recipe/box ingredients?

Our Rugby Team used to use Krusteaz for money making at events and it was O.K.

What's your fav?

Bisquick makes nice fluffy pancakes.  The recipe is right on the box.

Ask John, waffle batter, pancake batter, it's all the same.

I'm a bisquick user... though, I don't make pancakes often.

1.  Grill at 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
2.  Pour the liquid into the solid (powder).
3.  Use a wisk and mix for no more than TEN SECONDS, no matter what.  Overmixing will cause heavy and flat pancakes.
4.  Flip when the bubbles start to appear.

I saw a special with the geeky food guy on the food channel and he spent ONE HOUR on perfect pancakes.  He made them from scratch and he knows his shit.

The recipe is not as important as what you cook it in.Use a cast iron skillet with lots of butter. It makes the edges nice and crispy.

Although Waffle and Pancake batter are essentially made from the same mix, one uses water, while the other uses milk for an ingredient.

The hands down best mix is from a company called Stonewall Kitchen.

[#12]
1 cup flour
1 tablespoon sugar
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
Dash of salt
1 cup buttermilk
1 egg
3 tablespoons melted butter

In a large mixing bowl, stir together the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda and salt. Using a whisk or large fork, mix in the buttermilk and egg until well combined and smooth. Stir in the melted butter.
Heat non-stick skillet or griddle over medium heat. Using a 1/4 cup measure, pour pancake batter onto hot griddle. When pancake is golden brown, flip to cook other side. Keep warm in oven heated to 275 degrees.

Krusteaz WHEAT & HONEY is THE BEST.

Beats even IHOP, Uncle Bill's, Denny's, etc.

I prefer mine with Karo corn syrup rather than regular syrup.

If the Krusteaz Wheat & Honey isn't available, I'll take Aunt Jemimah's Buttermilk with a handful of blueberries and regular maple syrup.

I read an article in consumer reports that compared the various mixes, the winner---Bisquick.

You can't have pancakes without a bunny to sit them on.

Use REAL maple syrup, warmed.  REAL butter, melted.  Warm the plates.  +1 for the vanilla.

I use Hungry Jack Buttermilk mix, don't measure anything.  Add water until it looks right.

Lotsa cold milk, and fresh coffee.

Must have bacon and sausage on the side.

I had pancakes with magic mushrooms tossed into the mix one time when I was camping in Yosemite back in my youth.

+1 for Stoney_Point

Make em from scratch. Those mixes use 9 cents worth of stuff and charge you 8 bucks.

You can whip up scratch pancakes and be seated at the table in under a half an hour.

Pancakes do not qualify as "real" unless you are using pure maple syrup regardless of the ingrediants.
