Long Lines = De Facto Voter Intimidation Favoring the Rich

If you don't have to work for a living, own your own business, or can set your own hours, then waiting in huge multi-hour lines is no problem, just an inconvenience. Lower-paid workers in lousy service jobs like Wal-Mart, single parents, etc. are actively discouraged from voting by the current state of affairs.

This is unacceptable. I'm not talking about voter suppression, challenging voters, felon voter roll cleansing, or any of the other obvious dirty tricks. The basic voting system needs to be changed if people have to wait multiple hours to vote in a nation with poor childcare and jobs with unflexible hours. This system is geared towards partisan fanatics and those in higher income brackets with flexible hours. It's a disgrace. It makes me sick to hear about people having to wait that long. I'm deeply thankful to everyone who is putting up with it, but fundamentally angry about how obviously biased this system is from the ground up.

Pretty stupid. All it means to me is that the turnout is very high.

I just finished voting. I got in line at 7:40 and voted at 9:15 - Over an hour and a half.

Most of the people around me were Rupublicans willing to spend the time and be late for work if necessary. Makes me proud

Vote Early! Vote Often!

In past elections, the most people I've seen in line at my polling place was two or three.  This year there were around 50 at 7:00 AM!!!    It's a "Bush" district too...

So, in other words if your a fat lazy piece of shit with no drive to make something of your self, who was given every opportunity for a gov't sponsered education but you were too lazy to study, someone who has no American spirit and only a desire for the next subsidy, some one should feel sorry for you and accomodate your needs. Dude, you are the chaff, the dead wood. Make room for an Immigrant who came to this country for just one single thing, not a handout but an opportunity.

Most immigrants I meet, from the Chinese restaurant to the mexican laborers and the Korean store owners know more about what it takes to be American than the pieces of shit liberal parents turn out these days.

I don't like seeing foreign workers displacing Americans any more than the next person but you can't argue with their spirit. Same goes for the military, many are willing to serve and earn the right to be called Americans, kudos to them. Perhaps this DU piece of shit will move to France and suck on the Socialist teet he so longs for.
