A guy was telling me today that his father had a Winchester 50 caliber, lever action rifle.  I'm assuming his memory may be a little off but he said the model was 5110. 51-10? 1886?

I've been searching but have found nothing.  Anyone have a clue?

Look for a .50-110 WCF caliber - www.ammo-one.com/50-110WCF.html

I will need to do some research to determine which rifle it was chambered in - of course, you could look at the rifle to find out.  My guess is that the rifle is a Model 1886, very desirable.  If it's a takedown model, it's uber desirable, IMHO.

Im in the process of restoring a 1886 for a customer(draw filing the new barrel). Is in .40-60. When finished Ill post a pict. Before you start yelling about restoring this fine firearm.. The customer shoots SASS and wanted the rifle usable for this. Its damn nice.. For those that have not seen one think of it as a Winchester 94 but on steroids.
