Most of them will do that. Dillon's will for sure. Most likely the small cylinder in an RCBS UPM will do it too.
Suggestion: Get a real gun in a real caliber.

The smallest I know will throw 3 grains of 231 and that's Hornadys Pistiol Powder measure.

I checked my Lyman Accumeasure powder rotor table and the lowest it will go is 3.0 gr. of 231.

I've the Redding Benchrest Powder Measure, with the pistol chamber, it will meter 1.3 grains of powder, 25ACP?

Try a dipper - it's just as fast as a drum measure, and probably as accurate after you practice a few throws.

That's a heck of a small powder charge! Smallest powder load I do is 3.1 gr of 231 for 38 special target loads, 2.5 gr of Bullseye is about the same load.

I use the Lee powder measure and load 2.5gr of WW231 for my 32ACP loads. There is no reason why it shouldn't be able to do what you want.
What are you loading? 25ACP? |

I dont reload but I have a question: Do you ever mix powder brands/types? If not. Why not?

captainpooby:Not a recommended practice by the powder mfg'rs to mix different brands and powders. I've heard that in the "olden-days" some people would use 2 different powders layers like 2 different type of sand, a fast burning bottom layer and a slower burning top layer, and use the bullet to hold it all in place. I wouldn't risk it by destroying a good firearm.

The burn rates of powders vary so mixing them would lead to unknown chamber pressures. |

My wife and I are Cowboy Action Shooters, she won a pair of Ruger Vaqueros in .32 caliber.
the .32 S&W cases are very short and the starting load for a 78 grain lead bullet is 1.3 grains of W231. I hand-weighed a batch of 100 and the 1.3 grs. of W231 does just fine. I've never loaded anything that light and was surprised that the powder measure couldn't get below 2.5 grs. Thanks |
