Rudy Giuliani on Gun Control

All gun owners should pass written test

I do not think the government should cut off the right to bear arms. My position for many years has been that just as a motorist must have a license, a gun owner should be required to have one as well. Anyone wanting to own a gun should have to pass a written exam that shows that they know how to use a gun, that they're intelligent enough and responsible enough to handle a gun. Should both handgun and rifle owners be licensed...we're talking about all dangerous weapons.

I don't applaud Guliani's stance on guns, BUT he does at least appear to have some common sense and moral ground to stand on.

Giuliani is a RINO, though I suppose that's as close as one can get to a Republican in a big city.  Nevertheless, he is no friend of ours.  I'm originally from NYC and know what I'm talking about.  Yes, he did well in the 9/11 aftermath, but so would Hitler.

As far as him over Hillary, if the American people are still such large babies they will go for that, or even consider noiminating Hillary, vote for Hillary and "Cry havoc, and release the dogs of War."

No.

Outside of 9/11, Giuliani was more or less despised as a mayor for his JBT stance on so many things.  While it was effective in the area of crime control, it also led to the Louima and Diallo incidents.  Furthermore, he made sure to close every good strip bar and turned Times Square into a Disneyland when it should have remained a criminal cesspool.  And last, he has the moral fiber of Clinton since he brought his adulterous girlfriend into Gracie Mansion.

This statement clearly illustrates Giuliani's lack of understanding of that which is a priveledge and that which is a right. Not only does he not understand that firearms ownership is a right guaranteed by the Bill Of Rights, but that it pre-dates the Constitution itself. The wording is clear. It is not written that a right to keep and bear arms shall be established, but that THE RIGHT to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed. It was already accepted as an established right by the founding fathers.

Giuliani, like all other "moderate", Country Club Republicans (RINO's), cannot get elected as President. It's a simple matter of looking at the numbers. The conservative base of the Republican Party will not support any so called "moderate" Republican for the party's nomination as Republican Party candidate for president. Even if that candidate manages to win the nomination despite the lack of support from the conservatives, he cannot win the general election without the conservatives support...their complete support. A Republican candidate must have the complete support of his party and a substantial percentage of the independent vote and maybe some Reagan Democrat vote to have a chance of winning the general election. Take the conservatives out of the equation, and he can't win. It's that simple. The conservatives stay home on election day, the "moderate" Republican loses the election. It happened with Ford, it happened with Dole, and it would happen with Giuliani.

Now a good place for Giuliani would be as an opponent for Hillary Clinton in the '06 Senate race. We can forget about New York electing a conservative Senator, so the best we could hope for would be a Giuliani. Not only would a Giuliani win remove Clinton from the Senate, but it would also torpedo her run for the White House in '08. She'd have to run as a one term loser Senator. That would destroy her credability as a candidate and give her opposition all the material they need to attack her. She might not even get her party's nomination after her own fellow Democrats are through using that issue against her. At any rate, she'd be in for a real mud wrestling contest, and the bitch in her (I know, she's ALL bitch) would come out for all to see. Even if she won, she wouldn't look good doing it.

We can only hope it happens...
