Only got two bags left. Went to Albertson's for a beer and candy run, but they're out of candy. Tried Ralph's and Vons and they're out, too. Hella kids this year.

I thought I would have more living in an upscale family neighborhood.  Maybe 25 kids total in about ten groups.  Went through two bags of candy but I tend to give out a lot.  Still have about four bags left.  Eh, I'll bring them to work to bribe the students.

I want to give out more, it's just that the stores have run out of candy.

I had a big bowl full of candy. Since I moved I don't get much traffic so I just told the kids to fill up.

I hand-out quarters (25¢) instead of candy.

It was a big hit.

My neighbor ran out of candy and did the same thing.

Used to live in this cool neighborhood with lots of kide.
We lived in a tri-level, so it was a hassle to go up and down the stairs to the front door (step-mom had cancer; now deceased).

Moved in with them to go to graduate schood after my divorce at 26.  While I was in pharmacy school, she and dad bribed me every year (with margaritas and fat t-bone steak *rare*) to give out the candy.  I kept a tally in 1993 and we had 109 trick-or-treaters.

109!

Miss those days (...sigh...)

Edited to add that we were the cool house.  Always gave out the good stuff (e.g. candy worth keeping, just in case).  Cost the folks big $, but they didn't care.  Made it fun.

I wasn't in this neighborhood last year, so I didn't know what to expect. Got lots of candy. My old neighborhood gets swamped on Halloween.

Five kids total as of  2125 hrs.

I don't get it. It's not a bad area. Lots of young families.

I guess I'm taking candy to work.

SWS: That is not a bad idea, I didn't get that many kids at my house. I think I would've come out ahead.

I had about a dozen kids in costumes, a half-dozen teenagers in lame or no costume, and a half-dozen adults begging for candy.

That was me this year.

I gave out full size Snickers bars. All the kids were like "sweet" and "snap" (not sure if that one is good or bad).

Me too. A couple of them were smoking cigerettes. One of them told me my truck needed to be washed. I gave them some beef bullion cubes.

We set up a bonfire and all our pumkins and everyone in my 8 family building hangs out.  It's better than hearing the door buzzer every 3 minutes!   We all just buy a few bags of candy each so we can give more and don't run out.
