My dad was on the way home and riding through Louisiana on his HD.

Two members of his groups swerved to miss something but he didn't have time to swerve and hit a damn Alligator.  He said it just felt like he hit a big stick at 80mph.  He kept on going with no damage to the bike and admitted that he didn't go back to check on the gator...

I told him he should send the story in to some motorcycle mags... I bet motorcycle vs. gator without an accident has to be a first.

if you can eat it in one sitting, run it over.

I don't ride, but things like this make me glad I don't.  One big animal or pothole, four by four in the road or whatever, could make your day a bad one.
