The Last of the Mohicans. Only saw it once, but was REALLY impressed. Good he-man stuff here. I once tried to read a couple of those old "Leatherstocking Tales" books, but this movie version was WAY more interesting to my Jello-like brain.
Rob Roy. Something like Braveheart, but I liked it better.
Legends of the Fall. I like long, sweeping, depressing movies. Had a nice anti-government message too.
Crimson Tide. I thought this was really a gripping movie. It was sort of paradoxical how both guys were "right," depending on your understanding of what their duties were.
The Hunt for Red October was pretty good after having read the book, but I felt people who hadn't read the book would have missed a lot of what was going on. Unless maybe they are submarine crewmen. Many details and the importance of certain things just weren't explained fully in the movie.
Manhunter. I saw this once long ago and found it interesting. I can't even remember it well enough to recommend it as good, but there was a slightly disturbing psychological thing to it that makes me want to see it again.
It's a Wonderful Life. I never get tired of watching this sappy old movie, even though my own life seems less wonderful in comparison. Did I mention I like depressing movies?
