Fair enough.
To remove a hostile, dangerous dictator who posed a serious threat to the safety of America due to invovlement with terrorist organizations and a military which could provide weapons of war to these terrorist organizations.

I truely believe there are two reasons that we are in Iraq.  Both cannot be said publicly either for PC reasons or its best left to "actions or stronger than words".

1)  While the whole world watched AND MORE IMPORTANTLY while the Muslim world watched we quickly dispatched the one of the reigon's most powerful standing armies as well as captured a Arab tyrant and killed his sons.  We are powerful and will focus that power directly at our enemies.

2)  It is important that we have a "beach head" for the War on Terror where we have no restrictions but just as important is the location.  Iraq is the ideal location.

I never thought about establishing a presence through Iraq. Didnt we assure ourselves a "presence" (Or at least a base of operations) with Kuwait? Also, wouldnt Isreal be friendly with us if we needed a base of operations, such that we could use their facilities?

1.) To bring freedom to a country that has been oppressed by a tyrannical menace.
2.) To prevent said menace from attempting, again, to gain control of a third of the world's oil supply.
3.) To prevent said menace from using existing weapons of mass destruction.
4.) To prevent said menace from acquiring/developing further weapons of mass destruction.
5.) To prevent said menace from harboring terrorists and sponsoring terrorist activities.
6.) To establish a model to the Middle East states that shows democracy has its place in the region.
7.) Because no other government had the means or initiative to do it without us.

These are onbly seven reasons that I believe support our country's commitment, and are not meant to be displayed here in any priority.

It's a grand scheme to cut off the supply of terror recruits by liberating & democratizing the middle east...

Think 'domino theory', but we're the ones knocking over the first domino this time, instead of trying to prop it up like we were in Vietnam.

The objective is a 'free' Middle East, where the political and economic conditions are such that 'Blame America & Israel' is not the response to every social & economic problem, and where people have better things to do (like make money) than attack the USA...

I feel that unlike many members of this board, the leaders of this nation have (fortunately) managed to avoid seeing Islam as 'the problem', and recognize that the religeon itself is not the threat, and that if we reform the governments of ME countries, that the Western & Muslim worlds can go back to coexisting as they did prior to the rise of the PLO & global Arab/Islamic terrorisim.

If we stay the course, Iraq will become a political & economic example to the rest of the region, and the power of freedom & capitalisim will do the rest...

This is a war we win by re-shaping the world in our image - the more countries we can release from tyranny, the more places become hostile to the ideology that Al Queda & friends are peddling, and terrorisim will fade away like Communisim or Nazisim - all we have to do is 'poison the well' and our culture (the 'poison') will defeat the terrorist ideology...

Much easier than answering OBL's call for 'holy war' with a 'holy war' of our own (force them to fight on our terms), or playing the Scary Kerry route & treating it as a LE problem (eg running away scared - all that does is help the problem grow)....

Because it personally scares me when a Man can take Dictator ship in a country that is so inriched in what the world wants!  And I'm not talking Noriago or Cocaine,or just oil,we are also talking the Poppy fields that were soon to be his also!  But just in the oil for money(he deals with the world gets the money) supposed to be food for oil?

All the money went to the Dictator whom has connections to the Libians,Sadis,Japan,Germany,France whom really knows how many conections to the World powers for pipelines of oil!

His and what he wanted to steal from Kawait!   But we are talking the work up of a World leader in Terror and death that makes Hitler seam quite novel!  Plus by the total control of the Earths supply of oil to forieng counties like Japan,Europe and such he would make himself a World Power!

We can open up all the capped wells in Pennsyvania,Tulsa,Texas and with the Alaska Pipeline provide enough oil for us!!!    But thats not the whole problem the Whole world must have oil not just us!

And in providing the rest of the World with oil,Sadam would cut us off again!

We would become isonationalist again!  Hell we had to get bombed to get out of that feeling!  Hey everything is great here lets don't get our nose over there!

So this Dictator has these under ground bunkers with gas suits generators, thousands of beds ,water purifing units ready(ready for what)!

George Bush one was wise not to follow him into Bagdad in 1991,as he had and was ready to start a Nuke or gas war with us!

But he brutilized his people and his family!   We shut his ass down before he could brutilize the World!!

We were fucked when we didn't go right off the git go, cause he hauled all his WMD and explosives right across the border to Syria(guess what thats Bin Ladins home)!

So we will see them again,or the people of that country will!

So if we stop this asshole now over there it will be a starting place!

The muslams are 90 percent for us!  WHAHOO   well dude there are 2 billion of them so with just a ten percent of them being radical thats 200 million that we are going to have to fight!!!

So we can do it here and there,or we can do it here!

And be aware this is not just about Iraq this is Affgan,Syria,Eguipt!!!

Where ever muslams feel that they must assimalate us!!!

Bush wanted to establish his place in history as "defending the U.S. from terror".  He needs a war to do that.  Afghanistan was running dry, so he went after the man who threatened to kill his father (Bush made reference to this aspect at least once while defending the Iraq invasion) and created a new war to shift the focus.  Bush now wants to keep his job to maintain power and attempt to complete the establishment of  his name in history.  If we pull out of Iraq, Bush has a good chance of going down as a failure.  If we win, Bush will be a hero for all time.  Image is everything in D.C.

Yeah, it has. It's worked brilliantly, as a matter of fact.

All the terrorist shitheads have gone to iraq like roaches to a roach motel.

That's where our guys have machine guns and body armor.

Instead of them going to one of our schools like they did in beslan. Or a mall. Or any other one of the millions of soft targets in the USA.

Where would you rather fight them? Or would you rather stick your head in the sand and not fight them at all?

We are fighting the 'war' in Iraq to stablize or at least slow down the devaluation of the Federal Reserve Note.

When the majority of 'baby boomers' retire, and expect the benefits that the Gov't allowed to be put into legislation, the value of the dollar will plummet as they print more to fill the hole.

I would say that there are a lot of good reasons to do it.
But I hardly see anyone doing it just for the oil!
I would say because it needed to be done.
Although why would the religious fanatics travel to the USA, when they can go to Iraq and fight in a third world country where some people will support you rather than being a stranger in a strange land.
Who would you rather they fight our military or us.
Although some would help them here too.
