Rented Jurassic Park last night.  My little nephew, who knows I have a gun collection, asked me what I would carry if I was in the movie.  I joked with him and said, "If I had my M1A, the movie would have been an hour shorter, and we'd all be having VelosiRaptor burgers..."  He thought that was real funny...
What, in your collection, would you carry?  Rifles as well as sidearm?

Would have to be my M1A as well, plus a couple of jugs of Accurate powder and some short fuse!

I would carry something in a larger caliber that was scoped. I would really like to stay as far away from the big ones as possible. I guess I would have to go with a Rem 700 in 30-06.

As for a sidearm I would take the Glock 17 for the magazine capacity to use on the little buggers. Preferably I would rather have a small M16 to use close up. Say 11.5" barrel, with collapsable stock, flattop with a trijicon reflex with the 12moa triangle reticle. Also, I think I would prefer the 3rd burst instead of full auto, though a four position selector would be optimum.

The shotgun they were all toting wasn't a bad choice though, with slugs as an option for the bigger lizards.

I think an M1A Scout with 10 20rnd mags, and a 10mm Glock would be an excellent combo.  Night-vision and Sure-fire flashlights are a definite must.
Just my opinion...

Think BIG!

Very BIG!

A phaser set on kill!

Or an M82 Barrett.

Or an airstrike.

From my collection?  Damned, I guess the mini-gun and Barret 50 are out.

My 300 ultra bolt gun, and CAR-15.

Either that or a couple of slow partners.

A belt fed M2 semi would do the job.

from my own collection? i'd have to use an AKM. and a Glock 31 in .357sig.

what i would want to use is an Fn FAL kittied out with a scope and at least 10 20rd mags. for a sidearm i would use an AKSU-74 without the folding stock [uzi]

poor lib

We DID this one!

That said, I have changed my previous loadout...

Tri-mounted GE miniguns on my armored Humvee, along with a roof mounted HK 40mm FA grenade launcher(can't remember the model number at the moment). Fourth pintle gets a LAAWS. I don't care if it won't go through the car wash.

M-60's for the dudes in the Jeep.

M-60 for me too.

Secondary weapon-M4A3 w/ Aimpoint MComp2 and M203 w/ HE rounds, Mag-Chinched 40 round Sterlings.

3'rd gen. NVG's.

Vang-comp Rem. 11-87 SBS under the seat.

HK MK23 SOCOM on my hip.

That would do it for real life, in the movie, I would be carrying around that GE Minigun.

From my collection?

For defending a fixed position, I'd be sitting behind a pair of 1919's and blazing away.

For moving around, it would be the G3 and the Mossy 590.

Pistol?  It doesn't matter.  The only thing a pistol would be good for in that situation would be to cap yourself when you ran out of ammo on the big stuff.

Yeah, we've done this before.  I'd be happy to have ANYTHING as the only guy with a gun in the Jurassic Park movies was that South African safari guide feller.

If I were in his shoes, for velicoraptors and smaller, an M1A or FAL.  For bigger, RUN!!!!!  (to the M2.)
