no we never have. the highest popular vote is probly around 60 percent. off the top of my head harding, FDR, and nixon were all in that neighborhood. i seriously doubt that kind of homogeny is possible. usually when studying other "democratic" systems a popular vote like that screams fraud or other state election envolvment. recent elections in russia and iraq (i mean the pre-asskicking ones) are good, examples of this.

regan won by an electoral landslide, that is for sure. he won every state but minnasota and D.C. netting him 525 votes. his popular vote was in the high 50s, 58 or 59 percent maybe. 59 percent popular vote is a landslide, but its nowhere near the 75 were talking about here.

prior to 1824 thier was no popular vote for president, so washiton not only didnt win unanimously (john adam was runner up, becoming vice president) but at the time thier was no popular vote.

NO not as long as we are a democratic republic, never been done never will be done. You get those kinds of wins in dictatorships not  democratic republics.
