That is the crux of the issue. Everybody talks about us not doing the right thing and pulling out of this city or that city to soon, well here is where that argument grows legs. There are sound tactical reasons to sometimes pull back just short of anihlation in a battle, but when your enemy is on the ropes and talking peace deals, you cannot pull back. That is what OBL is praying for, he knows that Bush is not going to let up, and that everyday our troops are over there fighting, we grow stronger and he grows weaker, he loses support from teh people, and his financial backers everytime another group of his terrorists come across a marine or Cav company. HE also knows that should Kerry win, he will take any pisspoor excuse to withdraw and bring the troops home.
OBL no longer runs an organization that can strike whenever and wherever it chooses, his threats now ring as hollow as those of Bill Clinton in years gone by. So why is it we should choose to go back to the days of OBL being able to instill fear, while the US is a laughing stock? How would this be good for us? And if we do pull out of Iraq and Afghanistan, how long will it be before OBL grows some fangs back?
