I cant go anywhere without things like this following me home....
A NIB Marlin 336A 30-30....a nice rifle, has good balance, shoulders great, will make a nice brush rifle.....close range.

I'll tell ya... I was REALLY surprised at how nice it was to shoot. It's got factory barrel porting that really tames the recoil of that fat nasty .45-70...

That's a bitchin' rifle man! I have Marlins in 357, 44 mag, 22, and 30-30. They all shoot way better than they are supposed to if you believe the stuff in magazines written about them. If you get that gun's trigger set to 4 pounds and put a Williams Foolproof or 5D on the back, you will have no problems out to 150 if you just trust your sights and use the fundamentals of marksmanship.
My pet 336 is an 18.5 inch barrel gun with a straight stock (T model) with an Ashley Scout rig on it. I wish I had a digital camera to show it to you. It is sexy death. |

How much was it? I am thinking of a 30-30 or 45-70, not sure which... Here (SD), deer are pretty long shots on average, making the 7mm WSSM and similar "Fast/Flat" wildcat chambers common for deer/antelope/etc |

The 336A has a hardwood stock vs the 336C's walnut. The 336C has a pistol grip cap & a full barrel band, the 336A uses a fore arm cap instead of a band & has a plain stock (no fluted comb, no grip cap). <edit> Mine is slightly more pimped out. Fluted comb walnut buttstock with white line spacers for buttplate & grip cap, though with uncheckered wood. |

I gave $300 for it. That is the area I have seen these priced in around here.... Around here, a 100 yard shot will be a long shot, sometimes you may have a 200+ yard shot, but not very often. |

I have had them as close as 5 yards, while bow hunting.......
The doe I shot on Thursday was about 70 yards out. |
