Just saw tonight's episode "Command Decisions" , this one was about Desert Storm.

Towards the end of the show, the narrator claimed that Gen. Schwarzkopf recieved the Congressional Medal of Honor for his performance of duties during that campaign.

Whoa, says I, I've read many a treatise on that conflict, am as well informed as just about anyone else (in a general (no pun intended) sense), but have never heard anything to that effect. Medal of Freedom, maybe. I believe Cheney & Baker both got that one. But the CMOH?

Sounds like horse hockey to me. The Medal of Honor society website has no listing for Stormin' Norman, so I'm calling BS.

Anyone else know different?

The only commander I can ever recall receiving the Medal was McCarthur for getting his ass out of Corregidor in one peice.

According to this Army website, there have been no CMOH recipients in either of the Gulf Wars.

No Medals of Honor have, thus far, been awarded for service in the Gulf War.

This Government website shows Schwarzkopf as a reciepient of the Congressional Gold Medal.

Remember that the Gold Medal is not the same as the Medal of Honor.
