My wife is one hell of a woman... she went out and bought me a new Eddie Bauer Expedition for my birthday. I didn't know what to say (except that I really wanted a belt-fed semi-auto, M60 ammo taking Bren).

thanks
Ron

Dude, that is great.  I don't own a car but recently I've been renting Ford SUVs from Hertz to help me move to my new townhome.  I am pleasantly surprised with the Ford Escape, which has a decent amount of pep and cargo space for such a small truck.

I've also rented the Expedition and while it's a bit large for my tastes I was impressed with the performance.  [I live in Center City, Philadelphia so larger SUVs are a handicap when you're trying to find parking spots.]

My inlaws just traded in one a couple of weeks ago. It was 3 years old and had 23000 miles on it. I wished I could have afforded to buy it.

I had to rent one when my regular ride went into the shop for paint.

I like it.

But I've already had to change a tire.... the jack stowage suxxors.

I owned a '97 Eddie Bauer since new and the vehicle never gave me one hassle. I didn't even want a new one to tell you the truth. When I first got out of school I really felt that I "needed" a vehicle that I could show off. It's funny what 8 years and 4 kids can do to your "needs". I would have been fine driving my truck until it didn't start.

As for the wife..... I really feel she's the one who deserved it. She has an Excursion and that thing is a pain in the arse to drive.

thanks for the nice comments guy!!

thanks,
Ron

She got it for you, but are you the one who is actually going to pay for it?

LOL. Look at his sig name, dude.

BTW, must be nice when a spouse can just go out and buy a $40,000 vehicle to show love. Tonight I'm buying my wife a pizza.

Well....as far as income goes, I guess I will be paying for it. But. on the other hand....she raises 4 kids, monitors 3 offices and has to act like my mom to all my employees. I would NOT want to trade places with her for one day. I could not handle it.

and she is buying me a vehicle

thanks,
Ron
