Not very - spent most of the day in meetings about an upcoming 25% rif. I'm safe for now, but I'm losing a couple of techs, which sucks for them and me too.

I raised a gun from the dead. That is, I pulled it out of long-term storage and degreased it. Took me damn near all day (I'm meticulous and it's a very big gun).

I got up at 7:30, went to work, shipped out materials for a seminar of 1500 people, and will shortly be going home.
Probably could have completed more work, but jobrelatedstuff needs my attention. |
|
I slept until one. Then I ate, ran some errands, that took a while and $10 in gas, and came home. I accomplished next to nothing.
Note to self: Do not take three excedrin PMs if you do not plan on 12 hours of sleep. |

Just occurred to me.......I could have done a lot more productive things today. Tomorrow I hope I get another chance. If I still don't get 'er done, I'm hopin' for Saturday.

Got up at 6:40am, got to work atr 7:00am, Between 7:30am and 2:00pm myself and 3 other guys raked and loaded 17 tons of leaves from the side of the road in several neighborhoods. It's been damp and hit and miss rain so that equates to some of the weight, but our average per day is 13 tons. Came home, Checked ARFCOM, relaxed for an hour, cooked a couple steaks, and have been planted in the couch ever since. Wireless Laptops are great sometimes.

I've been working for a day and a half trying to debug a compile issue that's not with my code. Seems like something is screwed up in the compiler iteself. Not one ounce of progress, but lots of work. |

Worked 6.5 hours. 2 hours of which I was paid to each lunch and carve pumpkins at my department's Halloween lunch party (I work on a university campus). Another hour or so playing with the new digital camera the department bought primarily for my use (need it take pics for their new website I'm designing). Spent about half an hour helping a moderately cute chick print out her paper in the computer lab (she was getting close to tears until I came to the rescue). Not a bad day at all.

I got up at 6:00, went to my office to prepare for class. Taught MBA students from 8:00 AM to 10:15 AM, then taught more MBA students from 10:45 AM to 1:00 PM. Then I spent several hours meeting with students. Then I had a bunch of administrative crap to do - had to send some clarification to the Journal of Applied Psychology, and had to sign copyright papers from the International Journal of Conflict Management. Then I had to put together a reading list for our doctoral seminar on factor analysis, and had to find a data set that I can use to let them practice on. Then I tried to get some real work done, but got sucked into meetings with other faculty about committee work - and didn't get anything done until I had to teach a class again from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM. Just got home a little while ago. Now I have to be up reading for a while to prepare for a research meeting tomorrow.
Damn I hate teaching!! Thank God I only have to do it 21 days out of every year. Only 9 more days this year!! |

Got up at 6a.m. local time (that's 7p.m. EST) changed my mother-in-love's diaper, cleaned up. Got breakfast fed mother-in-love, ate breakfast w/sister-in-love and nephew (sis-in-love got our breakfast, I just fixed oma's) chatted w/Nephew, we went looking for a 220v-110v converter... no luck. Came back to the internet cafe to print off some intel about converters in Korean to show shop keepers so we can find the damn thing ... then hopped on ARFCOM to sewe what you jokers were up to ;) (BTW "jokers" in this context is an affectionate term) |
|
Got up at 5 to fix hubby breakfast before he went to work, did some laundry, woke up the kids, fed them, homeschooled my son, did the dishes, did more laundry...blahhhh, fixed the kitchen sink - we were out of plumbers puddy when I replaced the faucet so it was a bit jiggly but now it is nice and tight, surfed arfcom , worked on my business, fed the kids lunch, cleaned up the play room, did some tummy crunches, started dinner for hubby before he got home but we were running late so we ate on the way to the range instead - ugh McDonalds - poison of the earth , Went to the range and killed a few paper people and used up all our ammo.. woo hoo!!!!
Same old, same old, not nearly as cool as some of the other folks. My life is boring.... |
