Actually the reason for the settlement... which her side was anxious for,... was that if it was not reached by tomorrow she would have to turn the tapes over to O'Reilley who would know what was on them and the content might not have been as damaging as people suspected.  Basically what you had was a game of poker.  Who bluffed who?

You don't think he's a pompous ass??  I've strongly noticed his demeanor changes drastically between someone of equal intellect (just above average) and someone a little bit slower.  He bullies the dummy without mercy, but tends to be an ass kisser, while making little "asides" that don't need an answer but come across as arrogant and condescending, at least to me, for those who are his equal.  He is skilled at determining which is before him.  Ann Coulter ate him up--he was RAGING and red-faced.  They must have had a little "talk" afterward as her next appearance had her sitting on her hands and bouncing (literally) over what she seemed to want to say.  He is very slick at making gratuitous assertions sound like absolute fact--the worst of this was (what else??) regarding the AWB.  I despise him since then, as I believe he showed his true colors.  If you listen carefully, he is dismissive of positive items regarding GWB and verrrrrrry dismissive of SKerry's flaws as a candidate.  I'm not a fan, in case I haven't been clear.
