I just did that for the first time a couple of weeks ago.  I could see fair at a distance, but if I tried to look at something close up, it was blurry as crap and my eyes hurt.  The lady at the front desk said that's how I'd see when I'm in my 40's.  Great.

If you have a free hand you can make an artificial pupil by putting your hand over your eye and regulating the amount of light allowed through.  or you could wait a couple more hours! heh

At my yearly eye exams, the doctor puts in eye drops that cause the pupils to dialate (get larger). That way, it's easy for the doctor to look deep into the eyeball, I guess, and see what's going on in there. But it does wreak havoc with my vision and, of course, leaves me really sensitive to light when I leave the office. (Makes driving a bit dodgier, naturally.) It usually takes about four hours for vision to return to normal. YMMV. Hang in there. Relax, take a nap or something.

Reach out with your left hand.
Find the top left corner of your keyboard.
Move your hand down, tracing the keys, until you feel three keys pass by.
Your hand is now resting on the fourth key from the top.

Stop.

Press the key you are feeling.

That is the CAPS LOCK key.

Thank you.

TRG

I had cataracts at 36 years old. Instead of operating, my doctor said to dialate my eyes all day every day. He gave me drops that lasted 24 hours. That was crazy. Light sensitive- you bet.
I finally got the sugery. Now all is well. I can see again and all the ultra high power scopes on my rifles are jsut a left-over bonus.
