I asked my father, unfortunately he was in fucking Vietnam at the time Kerry was calling him a war criminal, so no he didn't hear him.

I was young but recall it--it caused a helluva stir, like any "insider" spilling his guts would. At the time there seemed to be no doubt he was being honest. It was a LONG time before it was known he was FOS and just another treasonous rat bastard. Vietnam Veterans still (unfairly/wrongly) wear the stigma he gave them. He's a fucking "hero" and they ended up spat-upon "baby killers." I can't type more than this for the rage and tears.

No, never heard of him. I was OK coming back in Sept 70 but they told us at Oakland Army Terminal not to wear our uniforms on leave. I was ignoring politics at the time. Wish I still was...

I hate to admit it but back then I was a typical kid who's only mission in life was to chase girls and have fun. I saw what was happening politically and how it tore my Father and older brother apart. We're still paying for it to this day and I haven't seen my brother since then. Kerry I don't remember. Probably because I tried to tune it out like most of the Flower Power genre. Fortunately, my views on politics and the world have done a complete reversal in 30 years.
