Arafat Lost Consciousness - Israel Radio

17 minutes ago   Top Stories - Reuters

JERUSALEM (Reuters) - Palestinian President Yasser Arafat (news - web sites) lost consciousness on Wednesday evening and it was not clear whether he had regained it, Israel Radio reported.

The report came an hour after Israeli television said the 75-year-old's health had deteriorated, quoting Palestinian sources.

Has it been 6 months already?

I mean it'd be nice and all - but this rumor does seem to jump up a couple times a year.

A somber occassion such as this calls for some appropriate music:

My grandpa, he’s 95
And he keeps on dancin’
He’s still alive

My grandma, she’s 92
She loves to dance
And sing some, too

I don’t know
But I’ve been told
If you keep on dancing
You’ll never grow old

Come on darling
Put a pretty dress on
We’re gonna go out tonight
Dance, dance, dance
Dance, dance, dance
Dance, dance, dance
All night long

I’m a hard working man
I’m a son of a gun
I’ve been working all week in the noon day sun
The wood’s in the kitchen
And the cow’s in the barn
I’m all cleaned up and my chores are all done
Take my hand, come along
Let’s go out and have some fun

Come on darling put a pretty dress on
We’re gonna go out tonight
Dance, dance, dance
Dance, dance, dance
Dance, dance, dance
All night long

Pick on

Dance, dance, dance
Dance, dance, dance
Dance, dance, dance
All night long

Come on darling, don’t look that way
Don’t you know when you smile
I’ve got to say you’re my honey pumpkin lover
You’re my heart’s delight
Don’t you want to go out tonight
You’re such a pretty lady
You’re such a sweet girl
When you dance it brightens up my world
Come on darling put a pretty dress on
We’re gonna go out tonight
And dance, dance, dance
Dance, dance, dance
Dance, dance, dance
All night long

Damn, probably another false alarm.  A Senior Palestinian Official wouldn't lie, would he?

RAMALLAH, West Bank (Reuters) - Palestinian President Yasser Arafat (news - web sites)'s health worsened on Wednesday and an ambulance rushed to his West Bank headquarters, medical sources and witnesses said.

Israel Radio said Arafat had lost consciousness, but a senior Palestinian official said that was untrue.

Palestinian officials have repeatedly said that Arafat is recovering from a bout of "stomach flu," but he has not appeared in public for days, fueling speculation over the seriousness of his condition.

An ambulance brought three medics late on Wednesday to the battered compound in Ramallah, where he has been effectively pinned by Israeli forces for more than 2-1/2 years.

"His health has deteriorated and there are plans to move him to the hospital in Ramallah," one medical source told Reuters.

Personally I think it would be disgraceful if the man was allowed to die of natural causes.  But maybe it'll hurt really bad that way...plus he won't be martyred.  So it all evens out.

In a just world, he would be rushed away in an ambulance, and later found decapitated and wrapped in pig entrails and feces.

No love lost here....

I guess we'll finally see what happens when he's gone.  They never got rid of him by force because they expected someone worse would take his place.  Now we get to find out anyway.

I pray he's judged fairly for his life's works when he passees.

Remember the Alamo, and God Bless Texas...

Just to teach him a lesson.

We should organize some spontaneous demonstrations when he kicks the bucket--everybody runs out into the street and lets off a couple mags, or something understated and dignified like that.

Air to surface bunker busting swine, would do much better. :]

Seriously though, if it happens I hope people get their kids and rally in the streets like arab muslims did on Sept 12, 2001. Let THEM know just how WE feel.
