Isn't she a Congress Critter now, Pooby???
The individual that tried to run her down... Wasn't that same guy Tennessee Highway Patrol stopped for speeding a while back... conversation included "You ARE the Al Gore I think you are, yes?"  Hope she got away OK. ETA: DAMN POOBY!!! I just got the mental image of a GIANT $1 CAN coin rolling down the street ala "Attack of the Killer Tomatoes" at Mrs. Harris!!!

No, this was sometime in 2003 IIRC.
He was speeding in his Black Crown Vic. Something like 70+ mph in a 55 mph zone. As I think about it, it seems he just slumped in his seat and took his lumps. The Trooper did write him a ticket. How cool is that?

Here's the info on the prick. Yes he is a pissed off Democrat...and yes he is in the slammer now on felony charges. I hope the SS is taking extra care right now. I would not be surprised to learn that some Democrats would kill President Bush if they could.

She was the Secretary of State for Florida and insisted that the law be followed... not made up as they went along. I met Katherine in New Hampshire back in 2000 and exchanged emails with her throughout the whole fiasco. Super sweet lady! |

Hiram- If you happen to exchange e-mails with her after this event, tell her that we are thinking about her. If she feels the need for any special protection that there are people who would willingly come down to work for her. Not that I have any special experience, but I would do it cheap. |

I haven't spoken to Katherine in a couple years. We're not friends by a long shot, just struck up an acquaintance in New Hampshire while stumping. I had her business card and when this mess hit I sent her some flowers and a note saying keep your chin up. Got a nice call from her and we kept up with email until she went to Congress. Last we have spoken. If I run into her, I'll let her know there are plenty of folks here who will make sure she is safe, but the Capitol Police will no doubt have a detail on her by tonight.

It was just mentioned briefly on FNC. They had a hottie clip of her walking onto a stage, then a mug shot of the POS--and the words, "Seltzer (perpetrator Barry Seltzer) said he was trying to intimidate her."
Edit: Seeing the above pic of her on the horse is a refreshing reminder of just how sexy a woman can be while fully clothed. She isn't a Spring chicken either. Very attractive lady. <sigh>
