Bush at rally in Pennsylvania:

“After repeatedly calling Iraq the wrong war, and a diversion, Senator Kerry this week seemed shocked to learn that Iraq is a dangerous place, full of dangerous weapons…”

“If Senator Kerry had his way…Saddam Hussein would still be in power. He would control those all of those weapons and explosives and could share them with his terrorist friends. Now the senator is making wild charges about missing explosives, when his top foreign policy adviser admits, quote, 'We do not know the facts.' Think about that: The senator is denigrating the actions of our troops and commanders in the field without knowing the facts…..”

“Our military is now investigating a number of possible scenarios, including that the explosives may have been moved before our troops even arrived at the site. This investigation is important and it's ongoing. And a political candidate who jumps to conclusions without knowing the facts is not a person you want as your commander in chief.”

It would take at least 20 semis to haul out of those explosives.  The biggest truck can carry a 30 tons load....I am talking about a special rig that you see on the free way sometimes, hauling large eart-moving equipment.  Let's say for argument's sake that those looters had access to these monstrous, special rigs to steal those explosives.  It would still take them TWELVE of these gargantuan trucks to move them all and WITHOUT being noticed by our surveillance team / equipment.

There are plenty of high explosives and ordinance in Iraq's ammo dumps.  This was just one of them.  There is a company in Iraq that is blowing up ordinance at a rate of 100 tons per week and they say that it will take them years to finish the job they were contracted to do.

Let's not forget about loading the trucks.  You don't just load up 400 tons of explosives overnight.

I don't think that they use actually semi trucks in Iraq.  Mostly they use much smaller cargo trucks that are a fraction the size of semis.  I doubt many of the roads there can handle a semi truck unless it's a road upgraded by US Army engineers.
