I'm wondering if these are any good.... Looks like a neat idea. I'm wondering if they are sturdy enough to work well, and I wonder if they interfere with extraction, etc.

this is how I carry my 1911 sturdy belt, stick 1911 thru belt very comfortable and fast. Why add a clip to your pistol??

they work ok.
seems the smaller the pistol the better. you can make it yourself for about $1.00

I carry a Keltec P11 with a belt clip IWB.
It's fine, but you get all sweaty and the receiver gets a bit rusty.... |

I use one with my Kel-Tec .32...it works pretty good.

Wouldn't carry a cocked and locked 1911 that way. Fist has some kydex holsters that are paper thin. I have one, it literally feels like there is no holster.

Have one for my 1991. Not as good as a dedicated holster if your going to be running or hanging upside down from the rafters but more than serves its purpose. Though an instructer at the CCW class made some snide comments. Strangely he was the one who while trying to demonstrate his 'string holser' dropped his pistol on the floor

Forget that crap. A holster is the only way to go. Find one that fits your body type and is comfortable and stick with it. Practice drawing from it (gun unloaded with the magazine out) until it becomes automatic.

So you are pushing your 1911 down your pants when your shirt snags and knocks down the safety, then your underware snag and pull the trigger while you have the grip safety down.
Ouch! Get an IWB holster. Preferably Kydex. |

I've thought about trying one on one of my Glocks, but never have gone through with it...
 I use an "old-tech" predecessor of sorts - the Barami Hip-Grip - on my S&W 317 AirLight. I tuck it into whatever pants I have on (shorts, sweats, etc. - usually no belt) when I go out to get the mail or take the garbage out to the street, or when I'm mowing. It's mostly for 4-legged (or no-legged  ) creatures out on the farm.

That thing looks like it would get in the way of a proper slap-rack-bang drill.

On the other side of the coin, It is a step up from mexican carry. BUT you will eventually hurt your fingers with that peiece of metal. Think about where your fingers are going to be when you wrap your hand around the top of the slide to rack it. I have the scar to prove it.

I have one for my glock 26. I love it, takes up no space and you can put it on in a few seconds. For something like a glock you really need one of those Saf-T-Blok things.

had one on my Glock G27... BIG POS. one day i put my gun on my dresser and saw that it was hanging on by one screw. never again.

Glad I did a search, because I was thinking about getting one of these for my Defender.
I think I'll look for a Kydex paddle, that'll be worn SOB.

One of the keys to concealment is consistant placement of the gun. You get that with a quality holster mated to a quality gun belt.

I have one, and I tried it once, and it was removed and has sat in a box for nearly a decade. It doesn't work well with a LOADED gun. The weight of the ammo in the mag is way too high for where the clip is. Just look at the pic.
On the Kel-tecs, the clip works because the clip itself is up higher (when int he carry postion, i.e. farther back on the gun) than the center of gravity. The one of the M1911 isn't. It felt better with the string than the clipdraw. Don't waste your money on it. I already did that for you. Ross |

I have one on a Glock 19, and it works fine. So far, it is the only thing that allows me to carry concealed in warm weather without printing.

+1 I too have one on a G26. I can still use most of my holsters with the clip draw attached (just put clip outside of holster). I use the naked gun (clip draw only), in very calm, predictable settings (where the likelihood I will have to run is minimal.). I do not use a Saf-T-block. The good thing is the Clip Draw is not expensive, so get yourself one and try it out. I really does enhance concealability. |
