Teresa to Reprise Hillary's Health Care Role

If she becomes first lady, Teresa Heinz Kerry intends to champion the cause of health-care reform, much the same way Hillary Clinton did in 1994. And just like Hillary, Teresa has her husband's backing.

In Jan. 2003, Heinz Kerry told the Boston Herald that she expected to be an "activist first lady." And her first priority would be to create a "Department of Wellness" that would stress preventive health reforms.

Until recently, Teresa's Department of Wellness had been consigned to the dustbin of wacky campaign ideas. Or so it seemed.

Then in September, John Kerry told a North Carolina crowd:
"What I'm determined to do, and it's in my health-care plan, is refocus America on something that can reduce the cost of health care significantly for all Americans, which is wellness and prevention. And I intend to have not just a Department of Health and Human Services, but a Department of Wellness."

Last week, the would-be first lady, who considers herself an amateur medical expert, advised an audience on a remedy for arthritis: Soak nine white raisins in gin and take one a day.

No doubt Teresa's gin-soaked raisin remedy will be official policy in any Kerry administration Department of Wellness.

Promoting good health is a GREAT idea. Having Tuh-ray-zzzuh in charge of it is a BAD idea....

Hillary Clinton, despite what people think of her, is a pretty intelligent person...if SHE screwed the pooch on the whole health care question, what the FU** does anyone think the whacko bitch Kerry is married to is gonna do any better?  This isn't a good idea on PAPER, let alone in real life.

It isn't a matter of intelligence.  A socialist healthcare system is not a good idea, on paper or in real life.

WTF is she going to support? Free Xanax for everyone? LMAO.
I'll tell you what the result of their healthcare "reform" would be though. Expensive cutting edge healthcare for the wealthy who can pay out of pocket and Soviet style healthcare for the rest of us. My advice is to take good care of your bod, at some point they are going to shove this shit down our throats and if you think modern medicine is going to help you you'll be in for a very rude awakening.

I would go with Davon or Vicadin.
Personally for me, I blame Hillary for the high price of health care that we have today. She really screwed up, because of her, many people in the health care industry saw oppurtunities(read $$) and tired to capitalize on it, and of course the consumers got the shaft.

Pretty soon the Dept of "Wellness" will be put under DoJ and the DoW SWAT team will bust down your door, shoot your dog and burn down your house if you eat a twinkie.

The Dept. of Wellness will exist to make sure you live a long healthy life.  Redmeat, caffiene, alcohol, tobacco and anything that you can hurt yourself with will all be strictly Verboten.  I am suprised no one has brought forth the parallel that this could be a veiled threat against second amendment rights.  That idea could very well turn into the Dept. of Protecting you from yourself and firearms would definitely be dangerous, much too dangerous for mere subjects to posses.

but that is just my take on it.  I may have my tinfoil-lined kevlar on a bit too tight.

I'm afraid you are correct.

And when it gets to the level that I'm not permitted to opt out of "mandatory" flu shots, smallpox immunizations, or to even eat or drink what I want...well, let's just say things will get ugly quick.

This "free health care" scam is the latest attempt at social control of the population.

I, and many others, will not stand for it.
